Saturday, June 23, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
The regatta competition is for Scouts only; however, all
kids can participate in the water events.
We will have two sponge bomb/water gun areas...
one for kids ages 1-5, and another for kids ages 6-11.
Please feel free to wear family-appropriate bathing suits and plan to get
wet if you enter these areas!
Rules for Pack 696 Raingutter Regatta: 
When called to race, hold your boat back with your hand against the end of the gutter until you hear the "Go!"
When racing, you will be allowed to "upright" your boat with your hands if your boat gets stuck, but you cannot move your boat forward when doing so.
There will be one judge per track, and the judges will give a warning if you move your boat forward. If you get a warning(s), the race goes on. If you lose the race after getting a warning(s), no action is required; however, if you win, the race will be repeated.
If one of the boats gets broken during a race, the results stand.
(Did you see the "Down and Derby" movie where the super fast car that the dads built lost a wheel in the race?). We will allow a 5 minute break for you to fix your boat as best as you can for the next race. Your parents can help you fix your boat.
We will race each race twice, switching raingutters. If there is a tie, we will toss a coin, and the winner of the coin toss will choose track for the tie breaker.
A race might be repeated if the judges find a reason that merits it.
The Raingutter Regatta is a chance to show our good Cub Scout Sportsmanship! Remember, "Do your Best!"
No catamarans are allowed. Boats will be propelled using scout’s breath—no propellers or CO2 cartridges, please.
You will be assigned a number when you get there, and you will get stick-on numbers to identify your boat. Final check-in for Scouts will be at 10 a.m.
Grudge matches will be held after the Scout bracket is completed.
TIGER SCOUTS: New Tiger Scouts can decorate a boat kit and race it at the event. Boat kits and decorating supplies will be there for you. Please come and take this chance to meet your fellow Pack members!
Pack 696 T-shirts will be on sale at the event.
Parents - please bring lawn chairs, non-pool water toys (including water guns) and sunblock for you and your kids.
